Tuesday 21 October 2025
8:00 am - 9:00 am

The event

WHY ATTEND

  • You, or someone you work with, are brilliant but held back by beliefs that lead to patterns like hypercriticalness (of self and others), perfectionism, fear of failure, or the constant chase for approval and validation.
  • You’re experiencing team dynamics or performance challenges where traditional wellness programs have proven to be surface-level and insufficient.
  • You’re genuinely curious about the origin of these deep-seated beliefs and behaviours, and how to achieve improved performance as a result of overcoming them.

WHAT WE WILL SHOW YOU

  • What schemas are, how they work, and why they impact everyone in the workplace.
  • A live case study of Schema Coaching in action, demonstrating its effectiveness.
  • How the schema approach to coaching helps you master the ‘deep-seated’ beliefs and behaviours that hold performance back and create better team dynamics.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS

  • Begin to understand what some of your own schemas are, and workplace scenarios that ‘activate’ them
  • Witness how this coaching approach helps people understand and recognise when and why their schemas get activated, leading to powerful personal growth and resilience.
  • Recognise schema-related behaviours, creating a path for more effective support and collaboration.

WHAT WILL YOU WALK AWAY WITH

  • A deeper clarity of the drivers behind repeated, challenging patterns of behaviour commonly seen in the workplace.
  • Practical steps on how to spot schemas in yourself or your teams – and what you can do to support them while showing necessary self-care to yourself.
  • Techniques and skills to begin to ‘shrink’ your schemas and show yourself more compassion and understanding, which directly impacts your leadership approach.

HOW WILL YOU FEEL AFTER (the 1% er)

  • Like you’ve been backstage, gaining insight into the human operating system, and eager to explore your schema’s impact in other areas of your life.
  • A little more sympathetic and understanding about your own imperfections and those of your colleagues.
  • Confident that even the most rigid and deep-seated behaviours in yourself or others can be overcome, leading to sustainable change and high performance.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

  • Anyone with a fascination about workplace psychology who is either feeling a little ‘stuck’ or struggling with persistent team challenges.
  • This is for you if you need something different and deeper in the coaching and wellness space – a program that goes beyond surface fixes to achieve profound, lasting results.

About the presenter: Tim Nolan

Tim is a Schema Therapist & Coach who has trained extensively with the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST). He provides one-on-one Schema Coaching for leaders and high-performing professionals, helping them overcome hidden personal barriers that limit their potential.

As a registered Psychotherapist & Counsellor, Tim specialises in supporting people with anxiety, PTSD, depression, and relationship difficulties that impact daily functioning and work-life balance.

He has worked with complex clients across diverse settings, including psychiatric care, residential rehabilitation, AOD (Alcohol & Other Drugs), and forensic sectors. He has also managed a team of clinicians for a large not-for-profit family services agency and provided consultation to clinical staff at Eastern Health’s psychiatric inpatient units and hospital programs.

Tim has developed and piloted programs with Victoria Legal Aid (family law) and with Box Hill & Maroondah Hospitals (psychiatric services).

Having lived many lives, Tim’s current one is all about helping others—as his role as a (somewhat obsessive) Schema Psychotherapist and Coach reflects. A colourful early life sparked his curiosity and fascination with people, taking him through many different spaces but always with one unifying theme: a genuine interest in understanding and supporting those who need it most.

After brief stints in finance, retail, and even a short-lived career arranging the installation of phone boxes (remember those?), Tim found his true calling in helping people—and he’s never looked back.

Today, Tim divides his time between Schema Coaching and his busy private Psychotherapy & Counselling practice—and he suspects he always will.
