SUMMARY:OMSB Evening Experience
DESCRIPTION:We created Uncommon Experiences because we dislike networking but love connecting. Talking to interesting people who are interested in us. If we couldn’t find this\, then others must be having the same issue. \nWe eliminated everything people dislike about conventional networking to make an intimate\, highly curated\, invitation-only experience and community. Complete with a connection framework designed to accelerate the building of relationships and mutual understanding without being “sold to.” This is Un-Networking. \nIt’s Common Sense\, yet almost every other networking event doesn’t understand the audience attending—who they are as a person or what’s most important to them. People want to work with those they like\, and to like someone\, you must know them. The stronger the relationship\, the more connected you are. The more connected you become\, the longer business relationships will last. We understand you are more than what you do and celebrate and showcase this. We don’t guarantee leads; we enhance relationships. \nWe remove the uncertainty around who you should be introduced to and why.\nWe eliminate superficial small talk like “So\, what do you do?” to go beyond the mundane talk about sports or house prices. We focus on ensuring everyone quickly builds deep connections and high levels of trust. \nYou will not be met with hundreds of business cards thrown at you or a room full of people selling while no one is listening. We call this Business Relations (BR). We are told we are different. We like to think everyone should receive this level of respect. \nOur promise is that at each Uncommon Experiences event you attend\, you will leave more inspired\, energized\, connected\, and motivated than when you walked in. \nWhen was the last event you attended that offered this kind of promise? \nPurpose of Each Event\nA fun and relaxed night out with your peers. We’ll help facilitate new and meaningful relationships.\n▪ Meet someone new\n▪ Reconnect with someone you know\n▪ Learn something new\n▪ Be reminded of something you know to be valuable but have forgotten \nWho Attends These Events?\nThese dinners are for business owners\, thinkers\, and strategists who want to meet other abundance thinkers. \nReviews & Feedback\nSome feedback from attendees:\n“I’ve attended every kind of corporate event\, but the dinner I attended was hands down the best event I’ve been to in the last 5–6 years.”\n— Alan Hodgson\, Telephony and Network Lead at GPC Asia Pacific \n“When is the next one? I’m booking in now!” \nCan Anyone Attend This Dinner?\nNot exactly. The dinner is for men and by invitation only. We’re happy to review anyone you think would be a good fit\, but it is a private dinner\, and they can attend a future event. \nIf You’d Like to Invite a Guest to Join:\nPlease check that he meets the following key criteria before extending an invitation:\n▪ Is somebody you’d willingly invite to dinner at your own home\n▪ Someone who actively helps others\n▪ Has an abundance mindset\n▪ A friend you feel you can rely on in any situation \n📩 Got Questions? SUMMARY:The Black Belt Problem: When Confidence Gets You Hurt by Grant Haroway
DESCRIPTION:WHY ATTEND \n\nBecause the gap between feeling secure and being secure is exactly where breaches happen – and most businesses have no idea how wide that gap is.\n\n\nBecause the people best placed to explain prevention are the ones who’ve been in the room when it fails. Grant has responded to hundreds of breaches. He’s seen what allowed every single one of them to happen.\n\n\nBecause the same thinking that gives a black belt false confidence in a street fight is giving businesses false confidence about their security – and once you see the pattern\, you can’t unsee it.\n\nWHAT WE WILL SHOW YOU \n\nHow close to twenty years of training and teaching martial arts led to a hard realisation – the training didn’t work when it actually counted – and exactly what that has to do with how most businesses approach their security.\n\n\nWhy following industry best practice can feel like protection while leaving you exposed\, and what a security approach built around your actual threat looks like instead.\n\n\nHow the thinking behind real-world self-defence – knowing your attacker\, understanding deception\, getting the priorities the right way around – maps directly onto the decisions business owners make every day\, whether they realise it or not.\n\nWHAT ARE THE BENEFITS \n\nA clearer read on where your real business exposure is – not more tools or compliance boxes\, but an honest lens on what the actual risk looks like.\n\n\nThe ability to ask better questions of your IT provider\, your advisers\, and yourself – and to recognise whether the answers you’re getting are built on understanding your specific threat or on doing what everyone else does.\n\n\nA framework for testing whether what you’re relying on would survive contact with a real attacker – not a theoretical one operating in a controlled environment.\n\nWHAT WILL YOU WALK AWAY WITH \n\nOne question that cuts through the noise: is what I’m relying on built for the threat I actually face\, or for the comfortable version of it?\n\n\nA clear understanding of where most businesses over-invest in security and where they under-invest – and why the ratio is almost always the wrong way around.\n\n\nA way of thinking about risk in your business that goes well beyond “we’ve got antivirus\, and we do the annual training video” – and that applies whether or not you ever speak to a cybersecurity firm.\n\nHOW WILL YOU FEEL AFTER \n\nLike someone held up a mirror to how you’ve been thinking about risk in your business – in the most useful possible way\, not the most comfortable one.\n\n\nUnsettled enough to ask a question you probably haven’t asked\, but clear enough on what to do about it that the answer doesn’t feel overwhelming.\n\n\nLike the Q&A was the most valuable part of the morning\, because if the previous sessions are anything to go by\, it usually is.\n\nWHO SHOULD ATTEND AND WHY \n\nBusiness owners and directors who make decisions about technology or risk\nAnyone who’s said “we follow best practice” without being sure what threat it addresses\nSomeone in your network who’s had a near-miss and still isn’t sure if they’re protected or just lucky \n\n  \nABOUT THE PRESENTER: GRANT HAROWAY \nGrant Haroway has spent close to two decades in cybersecurity\, specialising in digital forensics and incident response. He is the Managing Director of SiegeBrake\, the firm he founded in 2021\, which responds to breaches\, investigates incidents\, and helps Australian organisations build genuine resilience against attack. He has responded to hundreds of incidents – ransomware\, nation-state attacks\, insider threats\, fraud – and uses that firsthand knowledge to help businesses understand and close the gaps that allowed each one to happen. \nBetween building his career and founding SiegeBrake\, Grant spent six years travelling continuously through close to 140 countries. It shaped how he thinks\, how he engages with people\, and how he sees the world – and he hasn’t quite stopped since. \nHe is also the founder of NoBS Self Defence\, a reality-based self-defence system built on close to twenty years of training and teaching traditional martial arts\, and the recognition that most of it didn’t prepare students for real violence. He trains civilians\, members of Victoria Police\, and Australian Border Force\, and is a contributing member of the Active Cyber Defence Alliance. \n

SUMMARY:Uncommon Local - Mornington Day Experience
DESCRIPTION:It’s Common Sense to connect with amazing people\, and we created Uncommon Mornington to bring the people we know who live on the Mornington Peninsula to connect and truly get to know one another. An extension of our experiences that is a little more relaxed as an added benefit for our members to further build stronger relationships with each other and their friends and contacts who live on the coast \nIt’s great to meet wonderful people and find interesting and unique restaurants\, wineries and hidden establishments while continuing to build strong relationships with people who have also decided that living where they are is amazing. We are always looking for fantastic suggestions and family favourites to add to the list. \nThis booking is so that we know who is coming\, as we have grown\, it has become harder to book a place without the numbers. You will still purchase the meal you wish and pay for your own alcohol \nWe have another group for people who reside on the Mornington Peninsula and who like to play golf. They usually tee off in the morning\, do 9 holes ruin a perfectly good walk\, then come and join us for lunch. We intend to have four different groups around Melbourne and bring them together once a year for a Golf Competition. If you are interested\, please reach out. \nGot Questions? \nPlease contact \nMatt Murray – commonsense@uncommonexperiences.com.au | 0419 432 062 \nYani – community@uncommonexperiences.com.au |038 323 0340

SUMMARY:THE GROWTH TRAP: Why Scaling Too Fast is Killing Your Business by Dejan Dobric
DESCRIPTION:Growth is addictive. But scaling too quickly doesn’t just stretch a business\, it exposes it. \nMost founders discover this too late. Revenue climbs\, but margins shrink. The team grows\, but culture fractures. Systems can’t keep up\, cash flow tightens\, and what looked like success starts to feel like survival. \nThis masterclass is about fixing that before it breaks you. \nWHAT WE COVER \n01 The Hare vs. The Tortoise: two archetypes of scaling\, and why speed without structure always loses \n02 Real failures decoded: WeWork\, Quibi\, and Pets.com: what the illusions hid and what actually broke them \n03 The Chaos Gap: the dangerous space between your revenue growth and your operational infrastructure \n04 The 5 symptoms of scaling too quickly\, how they compound\, and how to catch them before they become a crisis \n05 The two foundations of scalable growth: Corporate Governance and a Unified Operational Backbone \n06 Diagnosing your business: are you a Hare or a Tortoise right now\, and what to do about it \nWHAT YOU WILL WALK AWAY WITH \nThis isn’t a theory session. You’ll leave with practical tools you can apply immediately: \n\n\nThe key metrics to monitor so growth never blindsides your profitability \n\n\nA decision-making filter: should we grow right now\, or strengthen first? \n\n\nWHO SHOULD ATTEND \n\nYOUR PRESENTER: Dejan Dobric \nDejan is an executive leader with an MBA from Griffith University and a track record of guiding businesses through high-growth phases with a focus not just on performance\, but on building operations that actually last. \nHe believes the world rewards those who help others\, that resilience is built not inherited\, and that real leadership means going home each day knowing you made a difference. \nThis masterclass distils what he’s learned leading businesses through the hardest moments of scale.

SUMMARY:Uncommon Local - West Day Experience
DESCRIPTION:It’s Common Sense to connect with amazing people\, and we created How the West was Won First Friday to bring the people we know who live in the West to connect and truly get to know one another. An extension that is a little more relaxed as an added benefit for our members to further build stronger relationships with each other and their friends and contacts who live in the West. \nI moved to the West a few months before COVID and knew no one. It was lonely and a long way to visit or meet in the CBD. Its great to meet wonderful people and find interesting and unique restaurants\, wineries and hidden establishments while continuing to build strong relationships with people that have also decided that the West is Best. We are always looking for fantastic suggestions and family favourites to add to the list. \nThis Booking is so that we know who is coming\, as we have grown\, it has become harder to book a place. You will still purchase the meal you wish and pay for your alcohol \nWe also have a Golf Group that tees off and completes 9 holes before joining us for lunch. If you are interested in ruining a good walk\, happy to introduce you. They play Ambrose at the amazing golf courses we have around the West. We have another group for people who reside on the Mornington Peninsula. We intend to have four different groups around Melbourne and bring them together once a year for a Golf Competition. \nWe created Uncommon Experiences because we dislike networking but love connecting. \nGot Questions? \nPlease contact \nMatt Murray – commonsense@uncommonexperiences.com.au | 0419 432 062 \nYani – community@uncommonexperiences.com.au | 038 323 0340

SUMMARY:The Abundance Evening Experience
DESCRIPTION:We crave connection and growth. To find it we often turn to networking organisations – all of them characterised by shallow conversations\, transactional relationships\, and the anxiety of impressing others. Lacking trust and accountability. \nThe secret to success in life and business is learning how to connect and form relationships with other people. \nHow can deep relationships be formed based on mutual trust and accountability? How do you rediscover intimate business relationships with depth and meaning? \nThe answer isn’t another app\, networking organisation or course. The answer lies in deep peer-based relationships that start with an abundance mindset at their foundation. \nBy building a space and a framework for giving we build greater trust\, collaboration and abundance in our lives. \n3 reasons why this works:\n• 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲: Give before you ask.\n• 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: Build trust and collaboration.\n• 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠: Create a space for giving. \n𝐀𝐝𝐝 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐃𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞\nNetworks are a vehicle for creating value for everyone\, not just claiming it for ourselves.\nIn traditional old-school reciprocity\, people traded value back and forth by only helping the people who helped them and giving to the people from whom they wanted something in return. To spark a more powerful form of reciprocity instead of trading value\, the aim is to add value. \nThe simple rule of attendance: 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐯𝐞-𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫:\nYou must be willing to do something that will take you five minutes or less for anybody in the room. \nThis increases results by opening the door for you and others to gain benefits from people they’ve never helped— or even met. By creating a norm of adding value\, you transform giving from a zero-sum loss to a win-win gain. \n𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞\nThe key benefits of participating in an abundance circle are:\n• Real problems are solved\n• Increase of knowledge\n• Achieve your goals\n• High-quality connections\n• Career boost\n• Happiness and Health\n• Trust building\n• Reputation increase \n𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐬:\n• What you know (your knowledge)\n• What you can do (your skills)\n• Whom you know (your network)\n• What you have (your resources) \nBy developing a strong network\, people gain invaluable access to private information\, diverse skills\, expertise\, and influence. \nPeople go unappreciated because they give everything away for free to the wrong people. By surrounding yourself with other abundant people you allow the reciprocity to return to the group. \n𝑴𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒍𝒂𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒆𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒖𝒄𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒊𝒔 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈. 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒊𝒏\, 𝒎𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒏𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝒂𝒔 𝒔𝒖𝒄𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒘𝒊𝒔𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆. \nCome join in the abundance circle and experience the power of reciprocity. \nBook your ticket now.
