SUMMARY:Uncommon Local - Yarra Day Experience
DESCRIPTION:“Monthly Friday lunches that help good people build genuine local friendships.”  \n  \nMaking friends as an adult is hard. Finding people who live near you and whom you genuinely enjoy spending time with is even harder. \n  \nIt’s strange when you think about it. As kids\, friendships happened naturally. At school\, on the sporting field or simply by asking\, “Do you want to play?” As adults\, somehow it turns into calendars\, cancelled plans\, group chats that slowly die and months of saying\, “We should catch up soon.” \n  \nMost of us chose where we live for a reason. More space. Better schools. A quieter lifestyle. To be closer to family. Maybe a tree change or a sea change. We love where we live\, whether that’s the West\, the Yarra Ranges\, Mornington Peninsula\, Daylesford or Macedon. \nThe irony is we often know people all over Melbourne\, but hardly anyone around the corner. \nSomewhere between careers\, raising families\, renovating houses\, walking the dog and trying to stay on top of life\, local friendships quietly disappeared. We don’t think it happened overnight. It just happened. \n  \nThat’s why we created The Uncommon Local Experience. \n  \nIt’s a simple idea. Once a month we choose a great local venue and invite good people to share lunch together. No private rooms. No name tags. No awkward networking games. No forced introductions or carefully planned seating charts. Just a relaxed lunch where conversations happen the way they always have—naturally. \n  \nYou order a main meal from the menu\, grab a drink if you’d like one\, sit wherever you feel comfortable and enjoy a couple of hours with interesting people who happen to live nearby. Bring a friend if you like\, or come on your own. You’ll quickly realise everyone is there for the same reason. \n  \nWhat surprises people is how quickly it feels normal. Someone recommends a local café you’ve never heard of. Someone tells you about a walking track nearby. You discover you both have kids at the same school\, support the same football club or live five minutes from each other. Before long\, these aren’t just people you met over lunch. They’re the people you’ll bump into at the market\, wave to at the dog park\, see at your local café or message when you feel like getting out for breakfast. \n  \nThat’s why people keep coming back. \n  \nOne lunch is enjoyable. Coming regularly is where the magic happens. Familiar faces become friends. New people are welcomed in. The group grows\, but it never loses the relaxed feeling that made people fall in love with it in the first place. It doesn’t feel like networking because it isn’t. It’s simply life happening around a table. \n  \nEvery month we also choose somewhere different\, giving members an excuse to discover another corner of Melbourne. Many people leave with a new favourite restaurant\, a weekend destination or somewhere they return to later with family and friends. \n  \nBy the time Friday arrives\, you’ve usually spent the week looking after work\, clients\, colleagues or family. The weekend will be busy too. We think taking a couple of hours once a month to invest in yourself is one of the healthiest things you can do. \n  \nThe Uncommon Local Experience isn’t about collecting business cards or building a network. \nIt’s about building a life. \n  \nA life where you know the people around you. Where you have someone to call for a coffee\, a walk\, lunch or a last-minute catch-up. The kind of life most of us thought we’d naturally have by now. \n  \nIt turns out all it really takes is putting good people around one table. That’s why we call it The Uncommon Local Experience. \n  \nBecause in today’s world\, genuine local connection has become surprisingly uncommon. \n  \nGot Questions? This fascination reached its pinnacle when Tony’s family was one of the first in their country town to not only have a computer but also have access to the Internet. That was the moment the world opened up to him. Driven by a wonder to discover and to create\, Tony used his family’s computer to spark a passion that would eventually set him on a path to establishing Spicy Web. \nAs an entrepreneur from a young age\, Tony utilised his talent and passion for building websites not only to earn him some extra pocket money in high school\, but also to actually pay his own way through university. When he graduated from CQ University with a Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Studies\, however\, he found himself struggling to find a job as a result of the global financial crisis. This marked the moment that he decided to tap into his entrepreneurial spirit and use his talent\, creativity and passion to create a job of his own; thus Spicy Web was born. \nGetting by with a little help from his friends\, namely the New Enterprise Incentive Scheme\, Tony started Spicy Web in a spare room with next to nothing. From there\, he laid the foundations to building an elite team of dedicated digital natives\, each specialising in their particular areas but driven by one sole purpose: to make a difference in someone else’s life through digital. \nUnderstanding the ever-changing nature of his industry\, Tony makes it a point for the Spicy Web team to not only keep up with the latest trends and best practices\, but to also keep ahead of the curve. This tenacity was exemplified when Spicy Web was selected by Google to partake in the Trial Google Partner Program and eventually became one of only 80 selected for the program’s prelaunch. \nWith such impressive and extensive professional achievements\, it is easy to think that Tony is married to his career. Yet at Tony’s core\, he is a true family man. A good work-life balance is challenging\, but Tony manages it with ease\, making Spicy Web his son’s hangout every Thursday and making it a priority to always be home in time for dinner. It remains undisputed that Tony’s family is his utmost pride and joy\, followed closely of course\, by Spicy Web. \nRenae Casey  \nRenae first found herself in the digital space as a communications officer after studying visual communication design. With experience in social media management\, graphic and brand design\, and website maintenance\, she’s always had an interest in the creative side of things and this has led her to a career in SEO. While websites might appear techy\, Renae sees them as a way to explore creative opportunities to boost brand awareness and performance. Her diverse working experience (from hospitality and retail to qualified pet groomer\, turned SEO Specialist) makes her an adaptable spicy member of the team.

SUMMARY:Members Only Evening Experience
DESCRIPTION:The Members-Only Dinner gives all our Uncommon Experiences members the chance to discuss their biggest challenges and opportunities. It’s a space to build on trust\, deepen friendships\, and find new ways to support each other.  \n  \nAlways the quarterly highlight for our members.  \n  \nTo enhance this\, we are introducing a facilitated “Abundance Circle”\, where members can both give and contribute using their human and social capital: \n\nHuman Capital – Your knowledge\, skills\, strengths\, and experience gained through education and training.\nSocial Capital – The relationships you’ve built that can serve as valuable resources for others.\n\n  \nThis powerful exercise creates a network effect\, connecting us all in a way that strengthens our influence in the markets we operate in. \n  \nBenefits of Participation: \n\nSolve an existing problem or challenge\nGain new knowledge and insights\nAchieve your goals faster\nBuild high-quality connections and referrals\nStrengthen trust and relationships\nImprove personal and professional well-being\nEnhance your reputation\n\n  \nWhy Uncommon Experiences? \nWe created Uncommon Experiences because we dislike networking but love connecting—having real conversations with interesting people who are genuinely interested in us. If we couldn’t find this kind of space\, we knew others were struggling too. \n  \nSo\, we removed everything people dislike about traditional networking and built intimate\, highly curated\, invitation-only experiences. With a structured connection framework\, we accelerate relationship-building without the pressure of being “sold to.” \n  \nThis is Un-Networking. \n  \nAt most events\, people don’t truly connect because the experience isn’t designed for them. We know that people want to work with those they like\, and to like someone\, you must know them.  \n  \nThe stronger the relationship\, the more meaningful and lasting the connection. \nWe don’t guarantee leads—we enhance relationships. \n  \nOur Promise \nAt every Uncommon Experiences event\, you will leave feeling more inspired\, energized\, connected\, and motivated than when you walked in. \n  \nWhen was the last time an event truly delivered on that promise? \n  \nCan Anyone Attend This Dinner? \nNO – This dinner is exclusively for Uncommon Experiences members only. \n  \nQuestions? SUMMARY:OMSB Dads Experience
DESCRIPTION:Great dads aren’t born. \nThey’re made. \nThey’re made by the moments that test them. By the mistakes they wish they could take back.  \nBy the conversations they never expected to have. By the victories they quietly celebrate and the failures that teach them more than success ever could. \n  \nThey’re shaped by family\, friends\, mentors and the people who show up when life gets hard. \nMost of all\, they’re made by choosing to keep learning. \n  \nThe truth is\, there isn’t a manual for being a dad. \n  \nEvery stage brings something new. One year you’re learning how to settle a newborn. The next you’re navigating school friendships\, teenage emotions or wondering if you’re saying the right thing at all. Eventually your children become adults\, and you discover fatherhood never really ends—it just changes. \n  \nThe challenges evolve\, but the questions stay surprisingly similar. \n  \nAm I doing enough? \nAm I getting this right? \nWill my kids remember the kind of father I hoped to be? \n  \nThat’s why we created Uncommon Dads. \n  \nIt’s a group of just 24 fathers who meet regularly to help each other become better dads\, better partners\, better friends and better men. \n  \nSome dads arrive carrying something heavy. Others have been exactly where they are only a few years earlier. Someone in the room has probably lived through what you’re facing\, and someone else will one day benefit from your story. \n  \nThat’s how wisdom is passed on. \n  \nNot through lectures or experts standing on a stage\, but through honest conversations between men willing to say\, “I’ve been there.” \n  \nOne of the most powerful parts of the group is the mix of generations. Around the table are new dads\, fathers raising teenagers and men whose children have already left home. They all face different circumstances\, yet the emotions are remarkably familiar. The fears. The pride. The guilt. The joy. The hope that we’re giving our children something better than we received. \n  \nMany of us grew up without strong examples of fatherhood. Our own dads did the best they could with what they knew\, but times were different. Today\, many men are determined to become the fathers they wished they’d had and the fathers their children will one day speak about with gratitude. \n  \nThat’s not something you have to figure out alone. \n  \nWe believe every dad needs other dads. \n  \nNot just mates to watch the football with\, but men who will challenge you\, encourage you\, listen without judgement and remind you that you’re not the only one trying to work it all out. \n  \nOver time something else happens too. \n  \nThe friendships deepen. \n  \nFamilies become connected. \n  \nThe men around the table become trusted voices in each other’s lives and\, in many ways\, uncles to each other’s children. Because every parent knows there are moments when your son or daughter will hear the exact same advice from another trusted adult that they’ve ignored from you for months. \n  \nSometimes our children don’t just need great parents. \n  \nThey need a great community. \n  \nWe intentionally limit Uncommon Dads to just 24 members. Small enough that everyone is known. Small enough that conversations go deeper. Small enough that when someone says they’re having a tough week\, people notice. \n  \nWe don’t believe great fathers are born. \nWe believe they’re built. \n  \nOne conversation. \nOne lesson. \nOne friendship. \nOne generation at a time. \n  \nCan Anyone Attend This Lunch? \nNot exactly. The lunch is for men and by invitation only. We’re happy to review anyone you think would be a good fit\, but it is a private lunch\, and they can attend a future event. \n  \nIf You’d Like to Invite a Guest to Join: \nPlease check that he meets the following key criteria before extending an invitation:\n▪ Is somebody you’d willingly invite to dinner at your own home\n▪ Someone who actively helps others\n▪ Has an abundance mindset\n▪ A friend you feel you can rely on in any situation \n  \nQuestions?
